Pool win the Welshpool derby
Welshpool Town won the Montgomeryshire Cup derby against Waterloo Rovers at The Maesydre Recreation Ground tonight.
Pool won 4-1 with the game swinging on a 24th minute sending off for Waterloo’s Jake Mann for an over-the-ball challenge.
Pool led 1-0 after 10 minutes through James Clewlow and despite being reduced to 10 men Waterloo levelled through Luke Evans on 34 minutes, only to see Josh Lenc restore the home side’s lead on 39 minutes.
Ryan Knott increased Welshpool’s lead on 78 minutes and made it 4-1 four minutes into injury time.
Forden went down 2-1 to Llansantffraid Village in them MMP Mid Wales League East. Tom Evans gave Forden the lead only for Joseph Evans to level before the break. Harry Dunn notched the winner in the 67th minute.
