Defaid Du hit with big fine

25/08/2010 @ 10:22

The now defunct Defaid Du have been handed a £200 fine after pulling out of the newly-formed Spar Mid Wales League Division Two on the eve of the season.
The league’s executive committee has clamped down hard on defaulters, with fellow Spar deserters Hay St Mary’s also landing a hefty £400 after pulling out of the first division.
Defaid Du, also known as the Black Sheep, were left with no alternative but to resign just weeks after being accepted into the league after players failed to commit and administrative roles were left vacant.
The Mid Wales season kicked off last season and will consist of 15 top flight clubs and 13 in the second division. League secretary Phil Woosnam remains optimistic that a full quota of 16 clubs will fill both divisions next season.
