Adele at the double!

Adele Nicoll celebrated her Commonwealth Games selection by securing a throwing double at the Welsh Athletics Championships in Cardiff over the weekend.

Adele will be representing Wales this summer in Birmingham in the shot put, and cruised to her 10^th Welsh title with a throw of 16.91 metres.

She backed that up with another stunning performance in the discus that saw her take another gold with a throw of 47.97m despite very little preparation following a long haul flight home earlier in the week.

“It’s honestly been years since I trained for discus. I was frustratingly close to 50m from no preparation. I might have to pick it up again,” she said.
