Waterloo Rovers showed they mean business in the Spar Mid Wales League this season with a superb 2-1 win over near neighbours Berriew tonight (Wednesday).

Rovers were always in command and found themselved 2-0 to the good against early title contenders Berriew through two goals from Ricky Lichfield.

Russell Cadwallader's side, who went into the match sitting in second place, rarely threatend and could only manage a late consolation goal through Adam Williams.

Llanrhaeadr (pictured) opened up a gap at the top with a 1-0 win at home to struggling Dyffryn Banw with a Ben White strike, Penparccau and Bow Street drew 1-1 while Dolgellau won 3-2 at Tywyn Bryncrug.
