Welshpool fans will be seeing double

Technogroup Welshpool fans are set to see double on Saturday after Town boss Graham Evans swooped to sign four new players - two of them identical twins.

Evans has signed former Maesydre favourite Paul Dowridge (pictured) and the left back will be accompanied by his identical twin brother John, an attacking midfield player with Welsh Premier League experience.

And Evans has completed a busy week by attracting LeeMcelneel, an attacking midfield player with lots of experience in the West Cheshire League and Ludlow Town cetral defender Luke Hicks.

And he doen't intend to stop there either as he is set to recruit a striker with bags of Welsh Premier League experience as well as bringing local youngster Adam Jenkins back to the Maesydre. Jenkins left to join Guilsfield during the close season but has been unable to establish himself in the village first team.

"We have been well off the pace in the Cymru Alliance," said Evans on the back of two crushing four goal defeats against Guilsfield and Holyhead.

"But I will not rest until we have a side capable of competing at this level. This is a difficult season for the club following relegation and the loss of a complete squad. The target is to ensure we stay in this league this season and these signings will give us more depth and experience."
