Coaches, referees and officials in the Welshpool area who want to obtain qualifications in their chosen sport can access a new grant worth up to £200.

The Montgomeryshire Sports Council Coach Education Support Grant is for coaches, referees and officials who live in Montgomeryshire or who coach, referee and officiate in the area.  The council is a branch of Powys County Council's North Powys Sports Development Unit.

The grant is aimed at individuals or groups who wish to obtain a coaching, refereeing or officiating qualification (at level three or above) for the benefit of a particular sport within Montgomeryshire.  The course must involve a sport that is recognised by Sport Wales.

All applications will be assessed by a panel of Montgomeryshire District Sports Council representatives, who meet twice a year.

For an application form telephone 01686 614060 or email
