Cricket Club planning for the future

Welshpool Cricket Club is planning for the future and is calling on the people of the town to attend an extraordinary annual meeting.

"Welshpool Cricket Club has for many years provided the town and surrounding area with an opportunity to take part in one of the world’s premier sports," said David Jones, a member of the club's Developmennt Committee.

"Steeped in history, the club has experienced much success on the pitch and this is largely down to players who have developed from youth level and have gone on to excel in the first and second teams.

"Now, the club is planning on success for the future and needs your help," he added.

"There will be an Extraordinary General Meeting at the club on Wednesday, September 29 at 7pm to enable us to firstly present to members, ex-players, parents and friends of the club how we intend to go forward to ensure success and prosperity for years to come.

"The second part of the meeting will be for you to give us feedback on our plan. We value your views and this is an opportunity for you to help shape our future.

"This meeting is the most important the club has held in recent history and is very much focused on learning from where we are and moving forward," added Jones.

"We hope once the meeting is over that you will be fired up as much as we are as a club to move forward and support us."
