Welshpool relegation fate unknown

Confusion over Welshpool Cricket Club’s Division One survival continues with the league admitting the decision to relegate them has not yet been made.
A dramatic last day victory saw Dale Evans’s men claim the full 23 points which left them one point shy of Condover who managed a losing draw to claim four valuable points.
But confusion has centred around the league tables which have been running throughout the season with media carrying different versions to the official table published on the league’s web site.
And a league spokesperson has confirmed: “Welshpool's fate will lie in the hands of the Management Committee, being dependent upon promotion and relegation issues elsewhere in the county.”
Statisticians are believed to be recounting the complicated points totals and their findings will be the basis of the promotion and relegation issues.
“It is not ideal,” said Evans. “We actually thought that after winning we were safe but unfortunately it is not so straightforward so we have to wait now until the Management Committee meeting.”
More frustrating for Welshpool is the fact that they have missed out on a vital point-per-game by not fielding a qualified club umpire this season, but players will be the first to admit that not enough was done with bat and ball.
