Welshpool, Guilsfield taste defeats

New Technogroup Welshpool manager Mike Barton watched from the wings as his latest club went down 2-0 at Caersws in the Huws Gray Cymru Alliance.

Barton knows he faces a massive task to keep Pool in the league with a 15 point deduction imposed on the club last week for fielding ineligible players but will have seen chinks of light as the Lilywhites pushed Caersws all the way.

Only a goal in each half from Richard Evans could separate the two sides but expect the new boss to be active in the transfer market in the next week.
Guilsfield must have been asking ‘whose Mike Barton’ as the managerless club shot into a 2-0 halftime lead at home to Buckley Town with goals from Ross Frame and James Henderson. But the villagers fell apart after the break with Wes Brerrerton notching a second half hat-trick, the winner coming deep into injury time.
Llanrhaeadr still sit proudly at the top of the Spar Mid Wales League after beating Carno 3-0 while close rivals Berriew lost ground with a disappointing 2-2 draw against lowly Dolgellau despite another two from top scorer Will Thomas.
Waterloo Rovers were on top against the students from Aberystwyth winning 3-1 while Dyffryn Banw were out of luck against Bow Street, going down 3-2.
Llansantffraid Village were always in charge at Presteigne but struggled to find the net before finally overcoming the bottom club 3-1.
In the second division Kerry increased their lead at the top with a 2-1 win at Llandrindod Wells with Abermule  drawing 0-0 with Aberaeron.
Llanfyllin Town went down 2-1 at Talgath Town, while Llanfair United proved too strong for Meifod, who remain off the pace crushing them 7-0.
