‘Disappointed’ Berriew begin search

Berriew have begun the difficult search for a new manager following Russell Cadwallader’s decision to join local rivals Guilsfield last week.
Cadwallader called time on his four-year tenure which saw the Rhiewsiders enjoy promotion to the Huws Gray Alliance as well as win the Spar League Cup.
They are currently second in the Spar Mid Wales Division One and looking to maintain the pressure on Llanrhaeadr at the top, but say they will take their time in finding the right man.
"Neil Pryce is in charge of first team affairs at the moment and did a great job on Saturday so we won't be making a rush decision," said chairman Delwyn Langford. "We have got a short list of names but we are also advertising the position to see what else comes in.
“Obviously we are very disappointed to lose Russell as our manager, but we wish him every success for the future. We would like to thank Russell for his four years of hard work and improved performances on the pitch.

“At Berriew, we have the facilities to play in the Cymru Alliance and this is our aim.”
It is believed that Dyffryn Banw boss Chris Roberts tops the shortlist with seven days posted to speak with him. Meanwhile, another possible candidate, Graham Evans, who started the management mayhem by quitting Technogroup Welshpool, has said he “won’t be applying”.
Anyone interested in the position should contact Ceri Jones-Phillips on 0168 6651068 or 07738075741.
