National spotlight on local ladies

02/11/2010 @ 10:37

Llanymynech Golf Club has enjoyed a healthy influx of new lady members this year but there’s something in common with a large group of them!
Nine of the new members are radiographers working on both sides of the Shropshire/Powys border and their efforts have not gone unnoticed with them appearing in a national Medical publication this month.
Lady Captain, Rachel Pritchard, said it was great to have colleagues who are friends joining the club and enjoying some good sport.
“It is a ‘standing joke’ locally not to break your leg on Ladies day, as there is little chance of an X-ray!” she said.
The ladies recently held a special ‘Rads Challenge’ between them with Team RJAH beating the Powys girls by a small margin.

Sunday was the first of the 12-hole Turkey Trails and was played as a medal off half handicap and was won by Robert Aldridge, playing off three, with a net 46. Steve Morris, playing off seven, was second with a net 47 and in third, David Jones (9.5) shot a net 47.5.
The Seniors played a friendly match against Horsehay at Welshpool last week and came away with a convincing win.
