Barton named boss of Daffs

Former Guilsfield and Berriew manager Mike Barton has been confirmed as the new boss of Llanidloes Town.

Barton has been running affairs at Park Avenue since the dismissal of Clive McNamee and he has now been given club backing to carry on in a permanent capacity

The former Guilsfield, Caersws and Berriew boss has been charged with getting the Daffs away from relegation trapdoor in the Huws Gray Alliance League table.

"After a meeting we have decided to offer Mike Barton the job on a full time basis, " said club chairman, Kevin Brown. "We are pleased with the upturn in performance and spirit in the camp since Mike took over and we are loloking forward to the suervival fight ahead of us."

Barton described Llanidloes as a "sleeping giant". 

The club is blessed with fantastic supporters and I am proud to be given the opportunity to manage here. We face a tough season but I have added some professionalism in the squad and we are confident we can survive."
