Welshpool-based flexible packaging supplier, Wipak UK and dedicated employee, George Davies, have both been shortlisted in the national Investors in People Awards 2022.
In a record-breaking year for entries, with over 300 organisations involved, the company was named as a finalist in the Leadership & Management category, whilst Shift Manager George Davies was shortlisted for the Young Person of the Year Award.
“With so many organisations entering this year’s awards, this is an outstanding achievement for George and for the wider company,” said Human Resources Manager at Wipak UK, Clare Hanson.
“We believe that people are critical to our success As an Investors in People Silver-Accredited site, we place great emphasis on developing our own, prioritising internal promotions over external recruitment, and retaining home-grown talent.
“As a result, Wipak UK has a pool of both technical and operational leaders, like George, who have gained trust and respect from the workforce. This is not only reflected in business growth and success, but in employee satisfaction levels too.
“At just 26, George is our youngest ever Shift Manager at Wipak UK. He is extremely organised and thorough in his work, and has been instrumental in developing a culture of safety on-site. We are very proud that he has been named a finalist and will be backing him all the way!”
The Investors in People Awards celebrate the very best organisations and individuals from around the world across various organisational, people, wellbeing and leadership categories. The two shortlistings come as Wipak UK awaits the results of the regional Powys Business Awards, where it is a finalist for the People Development Award.
Winners of the Investors in People Awards 2022 will be announced at a black-tie gala ceremony on the November 15 at Old Billingsgate in London.
