Less than four years after taking the key role of Head of Service at Powys County Council, Michael Gray has announced that he is leaving.

Mr Gray joined the authority from Lambeth Council in April 2019, and has said that he will be leaving next March for a new role as Director of Social Services and Housing with Pembrokeshire County Council.

Chief Executive, Dr Caroline Turner, said: “We wish Michael well for the future, he will be missed by colleagues.

“We are pleased that he will remain with us until March, which means we will retain his service over the Winter, an intensive time for the service and he will be contributing to our review of the service.”

Powys County Council is currently facing a recruitment crisis which is impacting service delivery.
