A local company that provides luxury toilets to events as cleaned up at the Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards by winning the 2023 'Maker and Creator' title for Wales.

The accolade is added to an impressive portfolio for Nomadic Washrooms, including a previous win of Best Tourism & Leisure Business in Wales at the National StartUp Awards in 2022.

Founded by Kate and Stu Richards, Nomadic Washrooms has rapidly evolved from a personal need for luxury toilet hire for their wedding, to a nationally-recognised business and brand.

The couple said in a statement: “Since we started up from a shed in Forden, we could only have dreamed of how far we have come in the last few years. This year we grew our flock of luxury toilets and washrooms further and have now recently opened up a second depot in Oxfordshire, with more exciting plans to expand next year.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank and dedicate this award to our amazing team, family, friends and clients; as without their support, none of this would be possible.”

Their eco-friendly, luxury washrooms have redefined the standards in the industry, offering bespoke services across the UK servicing weddings, parties, festivals, TV sets and more.

The award was picked up at a ceremony in London that celebrated the brightest and best entrepreneurs the UK has to offer.

This year, Allica Bank stated they received over 5,000 entrants across all categories, demonstrating the level of prestige that comes with the award. This recognition by the Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards is not just a win for the company but a shining example of entrepreneurial spirit flourishing in Mid Wales.

Francesca James, founder of the awards, commended the winners for showcasing the dynamic spirit of UK entrepreneurship, stating that Nomadic Washrooms’ journey from a startup to an award-winning company is a story of outstanding innovation and an unwavering commitment to quality.

The Welsh Government has also recognised Nomadic Washrooms’ contribution to the local economy and tourism sector.

Vaughan Gethin, the Minister for Economy, acknowledged the company's achievements and their role in promoting Welsh business on a national stage.

As Nomadic Washrooms continues to grow, they remain dedicated to their roots in Welshpool, contributing to the local economy and setting a benchmark for entrepreneurial success.
