Local business announces £10k community fund

13/05/2025 @ 07:08

Hilltop has announced the launch of their fourth annual £10,000 community fund.

The Newtown-based honey producer established the fund in 2022 to support local initiatives and projects aimed at improving the social and environmental landscape of Newtown and its surrounding areas.

The Hilltop Community Fund forms part of the company's broader sustainability strategy. Founded in 2011, Hilltop produces honey with a focus on sustainable practices that protect the business, its employees and the environment.

Scott Davies, Hilltop Managing Director, said: "The Hilltop Community Fund has been created to give back to the community in which Hilltop has received so much support. I'm a Newtown boy through and through and I'm thrilled that I can give something back to my local community and one that has given so much support to me over the years. The funding proceeds not only enhances the outstanding work already being done in our local community but shines a light on our community organisations and members of our community that need to be acknowledged."

Local charities, community groups, not-for-profit organisations, councils, schools, sports facilities, and other statutory bodies within 15 miles of Newtown are eligible to apply for grants of up to £10,000.

Applications must align with Hilltop's sustainability goals, which focus on building a better future, driving positive change, reducing environmental impact, promoting health and wellbeing, and supporting culture as a catalyst for transformation.

The application period runs until May 31, 2025. Successful applicants will be notified by the end of May.
