The Llansantffraid owners of four-year-old filly Gamesters Icon have been celebrating after two wins in six days.

The filly, trained by Oliver Greenall and owned by the Gamesters Partnership made it two wins in 18 outings this week.

The first victory came at Ayr on October 10 when ridden by Aiden Blakemore she won at 7/2 odds in the 1-50pm race and on Wednesday she was ridden to another victory by Megan Nicholls at odds of 2/1 favourite at Bath in the 4-25.

Gamesters Icon is sired by Sixties Icon with Dam Gamesters Lady and is owned by the partnership made up of Doug Williams, who is the breeder, Dyfrig Jones, Ray Jones, Clive Roberts, Brian Edwards and Gwilym Jones.

“We were unable to travel to Ayr for the first win which was a real disappointment, but we celebrated anyway,” said Doug Williams.

“The going really suited the filly at Bath and we were delighted to see her romp home by seven lengths.

“We’ve been partying a bit in the village this week and I suspect the celebrations might go on into the weekend.”
