Santa Claus and mince pies on the Llanfair line
Every year the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway Steam Santa Specials prove a huge hit with families, and bookings are being taken now for the coming weeks.
The Santa Special pulls up to the historic platform with its charming buildings, amply decorated with festive sparkle. There is no boring queuing to see Santa, he joins the train a little way along the line.
It’s a magical event for the whole family, and children’s presents are tailored to be age appropriate. Mince pies and festive drinks are included in the price.
The Santa Specials will run the first three weekends in December and Monday, December 19.

Mince Pie Specials on line
Following Christmas Day, the line will be running its Mince Pie Specials, when the steam engine-hauled carriages are heated and cosy.
The decorations are still in place so riders can enjoy the Christmas magic for a little longer, adding a bit of yester year nostalgia.
As the name implies, mince pies are included and a hot drink (or juice box for children). These specials will be running on December 28, 29 and 30 and to book, go through wllr.org.uk
