Welshpool’s scouts have launched their Christmas Post service to ensure your cards are delivered in the Welshpool area on time.

The 1st Clive's Own Scout Group provide a reliable alternative to the postal service whilst also raising money in the process.

“If you have cards to send to family and friends, within the Welshpool built up area only and you wish to save money and support the local scout group, get down to the local town businesses who are helping by selling stamps and hosting post boxes,” said Farrell McManus, Group Scout Leader.

“You can buy stamps for 40p each and post your cards in the special boxes at each of those businesses.

“The scouts and their volunteer posties will get them collected, sorted and delivered as soon as possible but within a few days at the latest.”

Businesses supporting include Alexanders in Broad Street, Cracked Wheat in High Street, The Monkey Puzzle Restaurant and Cafe in Puzzle Square and COWSHACC in Berriew Street Car Park.

The service will run until the last collection at 5pm on Wednesday, December 20.
