Local charities, organisations can benefit from Longest Yarn 2

The organiser of next year’s Longest Yarn 2 Exhibition which will be spending a month inside the Town Hall in September has called on the community to get involved and benefit too.

The spectacular display is expected to attract visitors from both near and far, featuring 80x1m cabinets depicting scenes from World War 2 between 1939 to 1945.

It is being brought to the town by Alan Crowe, the lead organiser of the Welshpool 1940s Weekend, and he is urging community groups, charities and clubs to benefit from its visit.

“It’s already creating much interest locally and will be here for the whole of September next year, so I am inviting charities and local organisations to come forward and host a day to raise money for their own causes be it a local or national charity, sports club or school,” said Mr Crowe.

Interested organisations should contact him on 07782 166342 or email alan60s@live.com.
