Luke invited to Official Strongman Games World finals

Welshpool’s Strongest Man in Wales winner Luke Weaver has been invited to compete at the Official Strongman Games World Final to be held from November 20-22 in Florida, USA.

It’s turning into an extraordinary year for the 38-year-old who qualified for an invitation by winning the British U120kg crown earlier this summer.

Then, on August Bank Holiday Weekend, he won the overall Wales Strongest Man title in Cardiff (pictured), a win that he described as “unbelievable”.

Luke only started taking the Strongman events seriously five years ago and has enjoyed a staggering rise to the top level of the competitions.

“It’s been an incredible year and this invite means so much to me,” said Luke, who now faces a race against time to sort his visa in time to be able to travel to the USA.

The Official Strongman Games is a festival of strength that brings together over 400 of the top Strongman and Strongwoman athletes from over 50 countries. The athletes will be competing for the World’s Strongest title across multiple divisions.

It will be held at the World Equestrian Centre in Ocala, Florida.
