Shocking video footage has captured the moment that a car left the road going down Red Bank, hit a curb and then smashed into a house

The terrifying incident happened at around 7.15pm on Saturday night when the car appears on CCTV camera (which has been widely shared locally since) to lose control on the sharp right-hand bend before heading straight into the house.

Emergency services have confirmed that one man in the house was taken to hospital as a precaution, and the driver of the vehicle was also taken to hospital, where he is still being treated for his injuries.

Extensive damage was caused to the property.

A statement from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service states:

“At 7.18pm on Saturday, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Welshpool and Llanfyllin Fire Stations were called to an incident in Bryneglwys in Welshpool.

“Crews responded to a road traffic collision involving one private motor vehicle colliding with a domestic property.

“The driver of the vehicle had self-extricated prior to the arrival of crews and was conveyed to hospital by ambulance. One casualty who was inside the property was also conveyed to hospital.

“Substantial damage was caused to the front of the property.

“This incident required a multi-agency response with Dyfed-Powys Police and the Ambulance Service also in attendance.

“Crews left the scene at 9.41pm.”
