“It was the toughest day I’ve ever experienced!”

You’ll remember last year that we shared the amazing story of a local businessman, Tom Dyos, carrying his mate Tim Davies up to the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).

Well, the entrepreneur has returned to the highest peak in Wales to go one better – literally!

Tom is part of a fundraising group of likeminded businessmen who raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for great causes under the banner of Get Up Give Back, as part of the Property Entrepreneurs Community.

They have set a target to raise £100,000 in only six weeks with Tom tackling his incredible challenge of not only carrying Tim up first, but going back down to pick up a second friend, Steve Parr, to take to the top of Wales.

“It was the longest, toughest day I’ve ever experienced!” said Tom. “But I made it to the top of Snowdon carrying two mates.

“There were moments where I didn’t think I was going to make it and that was only 800m from the summit. I had nothing left apart from the will and the team pushing me on. Thank you for all your donations!”

But Tom said his passengers certainly didn’t have an easy ride either, putting their bodies on the line in a bid to raise thousands of pounds.

“Although it looks like they had an easy ride, Tim and Steve certainly did not! It’s so uncomfortable being picked up, carried almost upside down and then thrown to the ground again for the best part of 11 hours. There is a reason I picked these two for the challenge and it wasn’t their humour or looks! Massive thank you.”

He also had a word of praise for his back up team who did “an amazing job”.
