Guilsfield Road OPEN!
Hafren Dyfrdwy promised that they would reopen the road by the weekend, and they have gone above and beyond by opening it up today and although we were told to expect two sets of lights, there is only one!
The water company is replacing nearly a mile of pipes and had originally applied to close the road for seven weeks until December 12.
But they have listened to concerns, particularly after recommending a 26-mile detour, and have managed to reopen the road today.
We took a drive on it this lunch time, and while there is just one set of lights covering the area that they are working on, there is still a second set in play between Shade Oak and Garth Pools.
Nevertheless, our drive from the town centre to Harding’s took just eight minutes through the two lights.
