Part Time Carpentry Operative                

Location: Trefeglwys Road, Caersws, Powys, SY17 5HH    

Travel Required: Own arrangements to and from premises to be made

Level/Salary Range: TBC based on experience

OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Workshop/Carpentry Operative that has a keen eye for detail and a commitment to a high level of quality. 3-4 years minimum carpentry knowledge and experience in assembling products. Will be supervised but expected to work on their own initiative.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out a variety of tasks associated with the proper preparation, assembling and building of wooden products

• Effectively operate a variety of machines and tools to cut, prepare and assemble products

• Working to a high standard of quality and able to identify potential quality issues and provide resolutions

• Clean work areas, machines, and equipment, to maintain a clean and safe work area

• Report any problems found on equipment or in the facility

• Follow all safety rules, including the use of personal protective equipment

• May be required to carry out some site work across the UK

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

3-4 years minimum carpentry knowledge & experience

Minimum City & Guilds Level 2 Technical Cert.

A in Architectural Joinery, ideally Level 3.

• Good team player with excellent communication skills

• Excellent decision-making ability and problem-solving skills

• Good understanding of current H&S requirements and safe working practices

• Keen attention to detail and able to follow instructions/drawings/plans

• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction

• Good understanding of basic maths

• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools

• Ability to plan and prioritize workload

• Good physical fitness and manual agility

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Essential that the candidate has a ‘can do attitude’ and is prepared to above and beyond in all that they do.

Would be beneficial to have some experience of construction site work and relevant qualifications such as CSCS
