Thieves target Welshpool caravans

Caravan owners are advised to be extra vigilant and review their security following a number of attempted break-ins in the Welshpool area this week.

It is not thought that much was taken due to a majority of owners emptying their caravans for the winter, but damage has been caused due to the attempts to get in.

There is no information as to where the incidents specifically took place, and whether caravan parks were targeted or those parked on private property, but police have been out and about offering advice in the Welshpool area.

“We have been visiting the caravanning community to raise awareness about the crimes and are advising owners to ensure that their caravans are secure and valuables are removed whilst out of use over the winter period,” said a police spokesperson.

“Consider property marking valuables, and ensure locks are in good order.”
