Phoenix House closes as mental health facility

A specialist female mental health rehabilitation service has closed its doors, and will reopen next year as a care home.

The Elysium Healthcare facility on Little Henfaes Drive, Welshpool, was designed to “support Service Users in achieving their goals and enables progress through their care pathway towards independent living”.

It has gone through considerable refurbishment work in recent years but at some point during lockdown, it closed down. Only a security guard appears to be present at the facility.

A spokesperson told us this morning: “Phoenix House is changing the service it provides. Following discussions with local commissioners we are re-registering it as a care home and expect to reopen it early in 2021.”
