Emergency services were needed after a 16-year-old male climber fell at Llanymynech Rocks yesterday, suffering serious injuries.

Four fire appliances were mobilised from Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Wellington with an Operations Officer overseeing the incident on Sunday lunch time.

The area is popular with walkers and climbers and yesterday’s warmer weather brought out big numbers to the location.

The picture, posted by Oswestry Fire Station last night, shows the height from which the youngster, who was taken to hospital by air ambulance, fell.

“Fantastic teamwork and effort from all agencies and staff involved,” said a spokesperson.

There has been no update provided on the injuries suffered by the youngster.
