Welshpool High School has said that building a partnership with parents has been crucial to Year 11 pupils achieving excellent GCSE results.

The current cohort of pupils were impacted hard by the Covid disruptions, and yesterday was the first time since 2019 that students have received results from exams taken since 2019.

“Year 11 pupils have worked exceptionally hard in what has been a challenging time in education and I want to congratulate them for the resilience they have shown and thank parents for the support they have given along the way,” said Josh Kinsey, acting Headteacher.

“In partnership with our families, Welshpool High School staff have ensured that no pupil has been left behind, and we are confident that this year’s results highlight the enormous effort of the whole school community.”

Thew school has singled out the following pupils who achieved all of their qualifications at A*-A: Zoe Baker, Samuel Cadwallader, Holly Davies, Ffion Evans, Maddison Griffiths, Tomos Haine, Elen Jones, Gwen Kuipers, Zac McCourt and Mackenzie Watkins.
