Fire forces Llanfair Ginny delays

Services on the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway have been interrupted today following a fire.

Fire fighters from Welshpool and Llanfair Caereinion attended the fire in a workshop in Llanfair Caereinion, and were quick to praise staff for their actions in preventing a bigger incident.

“Quick action by the railway staff prevented the incident escalating and fire service action was mainly confined to cutting away and damping down,” said a spokesperson from Llanfair Caereinion Fire Station.

The popular attraction apologised to customers for slight delays with trains running approximately 30 minutes late today.
