More money donated to The Hub

Welshpool’s The Hub is fast becoming a popular beneficiary from donations, with the town recognising its importance and residents keen to keep it open year-round.

Recently, Carol Lloyd visited The Hub at Welshpool Town Hall to meet the recently elected Mayor, Cllr Nick Howells, to present a donation of £250 in memory of a much loved dad, brother and uncle, Colin Harvey Evans.

Colin passed away last November, aged 67, and the family were keen to see The Hub benefit. It was received by Cllr Howells (right) on behalf of The Hub and Welshpool Town Council.

Meanwhile, Welshpool resident James Pelling is walking up Snowdon in August with a bid to raise a further £300, and his fundraising page is available here.

He said: “I was brought up in this town I want to give something back as a lot of people might be on their own and this is maybe the only time they see a person.”
