This week has marked a historic milestone for Ysgol Llanfyllin as staff and peers have bid a fond farewell to the Year 11 pupils on their final day before commencing study leave.
This cohort holds a special place in the school’s history, having joined in September 2021 as the very first Year 7 intake of the newly formed all-age school.
Starting their high school journey during the Covid-19 pandemic, the school said that the pupils demonstrated “extraordinary resilience and adaptability” during a highly disrupted transition period.
Headteacher Dewi Owen said: “We are immensely proud of our Year 11 pupils. Watching them grow from their unique start in 2020 into the confident young people they are today has been a privilege. They showed incredible resilience during the pandemic and are a true credit to their families. We will miss them all and wish them the very best of luck in their exams and the future.”
