Overnight smash closes town centre road

One of Welshpool’s town centre roads is cordoned off this morning following a smash in the early hours.

A local resident told us that the incident happened about 2am and claims that a vehicle hit a lamp post.

He said police were quickly on the scene and were spotted talking to the driver who appeared unhurt.
