Welshpool’s Pinewood is set to reopen next month following extensive renovation that has seen the 19th Century property transformed over the past four years.
Owners Mike and Rhian Harris said they have poured an “extraordinary amount of love, thought and care into The Pinewood, creating a space that brings together considered interiors, a welcoming atmosphere and a real ambition to offer something special to the town”.
Last night Mrs Harris confirmed to us that it was all systems go for the doors to reopen at 11am on Thursday, November 12, with a new Operations Director, General Manager and Head Chef all in place.
“This represents a significant investment in Welshpool, and one that we hope will be enjoyed for many years to come,” the couple stated.
Mr Harris, the owner of TNS Football Club, is a well-known local businessman and has diversified in recent years into the hospitality trade by investing in local beverage companies and launching his Hogs Inn pub group that also includes The Breidden, Victoria Vaults (Newtown) and The Tankard (Oswestry).
The Pinewood closed its doors back in April 2018, and lay empty for several years before Mr Harris purchased the building with a vow to bringing it back to its former glory.
In a statement last night, the company stated: “Some things are worth waiting for, and The Pinewood is definitely one of them.
“As part of the Hogs Inn group, on November 12, we’re delighted to be opening our doors and welcoming to Welshpool a new destination for dining, drinks and great company.
“From relaxed lunches and beautifully prepared dishes to cocktails, exceptional beer and freshly brewed coffee, The Pinewood has been created to celebrate every moment and occasion, whether you’re joining us for a quick coffee or settling in for a long afternoon.
“Behind it all is a team dedicated to bringing the vision to life, led by Operations Director Jason, General Manager Will and Head Chef Kad. We’ll be introducing the team in more detail next week, alongside a first look at our menu.
“It’s been a long time coming, but we’re confident it will be worth every moment of the wait. We look forward to welcoming you on the 12th and beyond.”
