The popular loop road surrounding Lake Vyrnwy is expected to remain closed until next Spring at least, the beauty spot has confirmed.
Storm Darragh devastated the area in December 2024, bringing down thousands of trees on the southern banks of the lake and blocking the road.
The powerful winds brought down around 60 hectares of trees, with access to the site proving difficult until after the winter months.
Work has continued throughout the summer and an update was provided last night.
“Work continues to clear the road, but due to the extreme extent of the damage, we don't expect the road to be open until at the earliest, Spring 2026,” the statement reads. “Thank you for bearing with us while we prioritise visitor safety.”
The rest of the lake area remains open.
