OTMS (60)
An entry of 60 over thirty month cattle sold to a very good average of 131ppkg for the 50 older cows, 141ppkg for the 4 older bulls, 153ppkg and 169ppkg for the younger heifers and steers respectively. A Hereford cow weighing 764kg achieved a top price of £1031.40 from P A Jones Pant Farm. G Jones & Son Yr Ogof sold a Limousin cow to £1010.97. P A Jones Pant Farm receives the Briarwood Products Ltd prize of £25 for the highest price older cow sold on the day. We are holding a section for TB Tested animals. FAT CATTLE (20)
An entry of 20 fat cattle sold to average 210ppkg for the for the bulls and steers and 204ppkg for the heifers. GW & BA Haynes Trefnant Isaf sold four fat heifers for 227ppkg & 216ppkg which where bought by Glyn Morris for M J Birtwistle & Co and 223ppkg x2 was paid by Rikki Lloyd of Welshpool. Evans Brothers Tynewydd sold a steer to 169ppkg and three heifers to average 290ppkg. GW & BA Haynes Trefnant Isaf receive the Brairwood Products Ltd prize of £25 for the highest price beast sold on the day.

CULL EWE (1858)
An entry of 1858 cull sheep on offer for sale today, sold to average £68.36 for the ewes and £76.09 for the rams. Top price of the day for the ewes was £127 per head from W R P Jones Pant. Top price for the cull rams was £132 per head from DD & MJ Evans Pantywynthrew. Weekly sale of cull sheep to immediately follow the sale of fat lambs and hoggets at approximately 12noon.
STORE LAMBS & IN LAMB EWES
A reduced entry of 520 Couples & Hoggs & lambs entering the market this week, selling to an increased overall average of £142 per outfit. Welsh as found ewe with twin lambs at foot realised £130 while Suffolkx ewes with single lambs at foot realised £204 being the top price of the day.Texelx yearlings with twin lambs at foot achieved £196. A sharper trade on the hoggs, reflecting the reduced number on offer. Suffolkx hoggs with single lambs at foot realised £182 with mule hoggs with single lambs at foot achieved £170. Texelx hoggs with singles at foot sold to £170.
COWS & CALVES
An entry forward of 44 cows and calves met with an excellent trade once again with all the best outfits being £2000+. Top price of the day was £2820 for a Limousinx 1st calver with a Limousinx Bull calf at foot from Price & Price Cwmearl. From the same home were 5 further Limousinx & British Bluex 1st calvers with Limousin calves at foot which sold from £1980 to £2500 to average £2375. D P Evans Moelygarth sold five Limousinx 1st calvers with limousinx Heifer calves to a top price of £2500 to average £2064. RE & CJ Davies Boycott Hall sold 6 British Bluex 1st Calvers with Limousinx calves from £1780 to a top of £2650 to average £2156. Two Herefordx 1st calvers with Limousinx heifer calves at foot from MA & LJ Morris Maes yr Abad sold for £2120 and £2020. J2 Farming Hisland Oswestry sold 12 Cows with Charolais calves at foot to a top of £1720 to average £1404. N & C Read Brinepits Malpas sold a Limousinx 1st Calver with a Limousinx heifer calf for £1820. A breakdown of the prices achieved where as follows: £2000+ 14 lots, £1800 - £2000 5 lots, £1600 - £1800 6 lots, £1400 - £1600 7 lots, £1200 -£1400 10 lots, less than £1200 2 lots.
