Langford's Welsh Sausage Co Ltd has picked up two of the top awards at the BPEX Foodservice Sausage of the Year competition for its tasty bangers!

From more than 230 sausage entries, its ‘Gluten Free, Low Salt, Low Fat Pork Sausage’ and ‘Lincolnshire Sausage’ were two of just 15 selected by leading industry judges to battle it out in the competition’s grand finale, which took place at London’s prestigious Butchers’ Hall last week.

Langford's Welsh Sausage Co Ltd earned second place with its ‘Gluten Free, Low Salt, Low Fat Pork Sausage’ in the hotly contested ‘Healthy Eating Pork Sausage’ category, whilst its ‘Lincolnshire Sausage’ scooped third prize in the ‘Best Export Pork Sausage’ category.

John Langford said: “To have two sausages go through to the final is superb! Our ‘Gluten Free, Low Salt, Low Fat Pork Sausage’ has been developed over the past three years; we’ve perfected the recipe so that it can be enjoyed by hundreds of school children across the country and fit in with the healthy eating agenda.

“We sell 500,000 of our Lincolnshire Sausages every day; the sausage was first developed over five years ago, however in the last few years we have changed the recipe slightly to improve its flavours and tastes.”
