Powys County Council snowblower overturns

A Powys County Council snowblower overturned and blocked a minor road at Forden.

A spokesperson for Powys County Council said: “An incident took place involving the council’s snowblower.  The snowblower was going up a bank on one of the secondary routes around Forden when the driver needed to change gear, which must be done when the vehicle is stationary.
 
“As the vehicle came to rest, the driver disengaged the gear he was in but before he could engage in a lower gear, the vehicle started to roll backwards.  The driver tried to apply the brakes but these didn’t work so he steered the vehicle into the verge and the vehicle toppled over.
 
“The driver was unharmed and went back to work after the incident, which we will investigate.”
