Council closed toilets after “severe misuse”
The announcement was made after what appears to be an entire roll of toilet paper was flushed down the disabled toilet, causing a blockage.
It follows other problems in recent months at the toilet block, leaving the town council with no option over the weekend.
“This is incredibly disappointing and deeply saddening,” said a spokesperson. “It is frustrating to see such disregard for the facilities that serve our community. As a result, the toilets will remain closed over the weekend while we evaluate the best course of action to unblock and address any damage caused.”
Meanwhile, Welshpool’s newly refurbished toilets at the Tourist Centre have closed the men’s facility temporarily to allow work to take place on the solar panels being fitted.
