Community groups, charities and voluntary organisations from across Montgomeryshire are being invited to a Funding Fair in Newtown later this year.
The event will take place on October 24, from 11am-1pm in the Concert Room at The Monty Club. It is free to attend and aims to connect local organisations with key funding bodies.
Representatives from a range of national and local organisations will be on hand to give advice on securing grants for projects, services and capital investment. They include the National Lottery Community Fund, National Lottery Heritage Fund, Sport Wales, Powys County Council, Powys Association of Voluntary Organisations (PAVO), Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA), as well as the Welsh Parliament.
The fair has been organised by Montgomeryshire MS Russell George, who said it was an opportunity for groups to get direct advice that could make a difference to their work.
“Many fantastic projects in Montgomeryshire struggle not for lack of ideas, but for lack of the right financial support at the right time,” he said. “This event will help bridge that gap by connecting organisations directly with those who can help. I encourage anyone involved in a community or voluntary organisation to come along.”
Alongside advice from the organisations, laptops will be available with access to the Senedd’s Research Guides and Grant Finder systems to help visitors identify and apply for relevant opportunities.
The event is open to all voluntary sector organisations, charitable associations and community groups. Further details are available by contacting Russell George MS at russell.george@senedd.wales or by calling 01686 610887.
