New village pre-school launched

The rapidly expanding village of Crew Green has welcomed a new pre-school which is located right next to the main school.

Brynhafren Bright Stars opened on October 1 following a considerable community-led effort supported by many parents of the children from the main school.

“It is amazing to see the support we have had and shows what a great community it is,” said Vikki Lewis, Secretary for the Committee.

“We can provide places for two-year olds through to school age and we offer both Shropshire-funded children and Powys 10 hours education along with the 20 hours Welsh funded.”

The pre-school us being run by two main staff members, Taya Cranshaw Scott (room leader) and Claire Coote (room assistant) and it follows the Welsh curriculum for teaching.
