Newtown’s next community SwapShop and Repair Café will take place at Platform 1, Newtown Train Station, on Saturday, November 1, from 10am-2pm.
The event is a collaboration between Open Energy, a project funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, and Platform 1. It aims to help residents save money, cut waste and keep useful items in circulation.
Visitors can swap clothes, craft items and children’s toys for free, and make the most of on site repair stations offering help with textiles, soft toys, tool sharpening and small electricals. A PAT testing service will also be available. All are welcome, whether or not they have something to swap or repair.
Alongside the practical help, families can enjoy children’s craft workshops, with seasonal homemade stew and refreshments served free of charge.
