Powys County Council has confirmed that Llandrinio Bridge could reopen in five weeks, ending fears that we could have faced endless months of closure.
The bridge remains closed following last week’s incident, which police described as vehicle striking it and driving off, and essential repair works are anticipated to begin on November 17, with the bridge expected to reopen by mid-December.
Since the incident, which caused significant structural damage to this historic crossing, council teams have worked closely with contractors and stakeholders to assess the damage and plan the necessary repairs. They said the priority is to restore the bridge safely and efficiently, while preserving its heritage value.
