Change in Welshpool is coming, so have your say

06/01/2026 @ 10:15

Byelaws that are designed to help manage and protect key public spaces and facilities across Welshpool are under review, with the Town Council asking residents for input.

The local authority is reminding residents, businesses and community organisations that the public consultation on proposed new local byelaws will close this Sunday, January 12.

The 12-week consultation, launched in October, seeks views on proposed new byelaws designed to help manage and protect key public spaces and facilities across the town. These are being developed under the Local Government Byelaws (Wales) Act 2012.

Town Clerk, Richard Williams, said: “We would strongly encourage anyone who has an interest in Welshpool’s public spaces, markets or facilities to take a few minutes to share their views before the consultation closes.

“All feedback received will help shape the final byelaws before they are brought back to Council.”

The consultation documents, including the Initial Written Statements, are available on the Council’s website at here

Responses will be reviewed and summarised in a Second Written Statement, ahead of draft byelaws and formal Notices of Intention being brought forward later in 2026.
