‘My first cinema experience’ for Welshpool kids

Welshpool Town Hall is to be turned into a cinema and craft hub for one day only over the summer to offer children their “first cinema experience”.

The Town Council has agreed to cover the cost of hosting the event which will target children under seven for an afternoon of entertainment.

No date has been decided, but the Events & Planning Committee has agreed to back the initiative with Town Clerk, Richard Williams, saying that a film will be chosen suitable for that age range.

Craft sessions will also be held alongside to make it a fun-filled occasion that probably won't cost attendees a penny.

Mayor, Cllr Bill Rowell, heralded it as an “excellent idea” and Mr Williams said once a date is decided it will be marketed to nurseries and primary schools in the town.
