Ysgol Bro Caereinion has revealed that 23% of their GCSE pupils have achieved five A* / A grades, an accomplishment the school has described as “outstanding”.
The school said that the results “highlight not only the academic ability of our pupils but also the effort they have invested over many years to achieve their goals”.
Headteacher, Anwen Orrells, said: “We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our Year 11 pupils. Their GCSE results are a testament to their hard work, determination and perseverance. Reaching this milestone requires significant commitment and they should be immensely proud of all they have accomplished.
“These outcomes have only been possible through the combined efforts of our pupils, the dedication of our staff, and the unwavering support provided by families and carers. Together, they have created the strong foundation that has enabled our young people to succeed.”

In addition, the school said 93% of pupils in Welsh First Language achieved A*-C grades of which 69% of pupils come from non-Welsh speaking families.
The Headteacher added: “The success achieved in these subjects is particularly pleasing and reflects the expertise and dedication of our teaching staff, alongside the commitment of pupils to achieving their very best.
“Seeing so many departments achieve 100% A*-C grades and witnessing such strong outcomes in Welsh First Language are fantastic accomplishments for the entire school community.
“As our pupils move on to the next stage of their education, training or employment, we congratulate them on their achievements and wish them every success for the future. We are also delighted that many of our pupils will continue their educational journey with us, and, as part of Chweched Powys and Trisgol+; we look forward to welcoming pupils back to the sixth form to study a wide range of academic and vocational courses that will help them achieve their future aspirations.”
