For the third week running Welshpool will be receiving a reduced recycling collection service.
Fed-up County Councillor Graham Breeze shared the disappointing news this morning, declaring “here we go again” and sharing that “staff training” was the excuse this week.
The service has turned into a shambles over the past year with staff shortage, new routes and even Amazon and the rise in online shopping being blamed, but staff training is a new one.
Cllr Breeze, who is demanding answers from fellow Welshpool county councillor Richard Church who is the new cabinet member responsible, said: “Here we go again and this time it’s due to staff training. Third Monday in a row that recycling won't be collected.”
He then shared the following that was sent to him by the department.
“There may be disruption to the recycling collection today (Monday 08-06-26). If the recycling collection does not take place by 5pm today, the recycling collection will take place on Tuesday 09-06-26. This is due to staff training this morning. The CRM system has been updated to show the changes.
The affected areas and adjoining areas are: Red Bank, Brookfield Road, Borfa Green, Brynfa Avenue, Bryn Y Ddol.
