Berriew start in style

Berriew started the 2017-18 season in fine style by lifting the Spar Mid Wales League Summer Cup.

The villagers beat Carno 2-1 away to take the silverware back to their Rhiewside headquarters to the delight of manager David Jones.

Forden are back in business this season after a year out of action and look like being a force in the Amateur League second division. They beat Trewern 4-2 with goals from Ross Harris (2), Josh Gethin and Ryan Jenkins.

Welshpool's trip to Dolgellau was called off.
