Rally from town this weekend
The Classic Lanes will start form Welshpool Livestock Market and, with entries closing soon, spectators are in for a real treat.
Around 60 crews, including local heroes along with a few novices and some new driver & navigator combinations, promise for a fun, no nonsense night of sport.
“A huge thanks ahead of time goes to our local sponsors, Pandy Butchers of Llanfair, and of course the local communities who year on year indulge our passion for sport,” said a spokesperson.
“Without them, we wouldn’t have the honour of hosting such an event. The Classic Lanes Rally will again this year run in memory of Gill Wood, who in 2016 lost her bravely fought battle with cancer, just weeks after turning 50.
“Gill was a Welsh Border Car Club legend, her enthusiastic approach and passion for the sport has influenced so many and the team hopes to once again raise a great donation to Cancer Research UK in her memory.”
