Guilsfield top Cymru North

11/08/2021 @ 11:19

Ambitious Guilsfield are off to a flying start in the Cymru North and sit top after three wins from four starts.

Nathan Leonard’s side won 2-0 at Llanrhaeadr last night in a local derby but found it tough going after a goalless first half.

It was level at the break but nine minutes into the second period and the Guils had their noses in front. Second half substitute Steve Blenkinsop opened the scoring and Iwan Matthews was on target again to clinch the points.

Llanidloes maintained their unbeaten start to the season thanks to a last gasp equaliser from Tom Goodwin in a 2-2 draw at home to Penrhyncoch.

Taylor Watts found the net after just four minutes, but his opener was cancelled out by Connor Bird who stroked home a penalty on 14 minutes. And eight minutes from time Watts grabbed his and the Roosters’ second  before Goodwin equalised.

Other results were:

Churchstoke 2 Caersws 3
